Face masks always required in the surgery

Let’s keep each other safe. Coronavirus is still with us. The NHS requires face masks or coverings to be worn when visiting our practices. If you don’t wear a mask, you may not be seen by the clinician.

NHS England confirmed on 15 July 2021 that Public Health England’s infection prevention and control (IPC) guidance still applies to patient-facing healthcare settings and masks should continue to be worn unless a valid exemption applies.

Hot weather, heatwaves and sun advice

Over this summer period it is important to be aware of hot weather and heatwaves. Heat can sometimes be harmful to your health. Make sure you try to keep cool, drink plenty of fluids, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and seek advice if you are unwell.

General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR)

The data held in the GP medical records of patients is used every day to support health and care planning and research in England, helping to find better treatments and improve patient outcomes for everyone. NHS England has developed a new way to collect this data, called the General Practice Data for Planning and Research data collection.

If you do not want NHS Digital to share your identifiable patient data (personally identifiable data in the diagram above) with anyone else for purposes beyond your own care, then you can also register a National Data Opt-out. This link also has more information about what the National Data Opt-out is.
